Decontamination pass-through cabin 01/A

DPK dratak.JPG

Decontamination pass-through cabin is most frequently used as material pass-through to transfer material between rooms with different classes of cleanliness (typically B and C). The material must be decontaminated (by means of surface sterilization) before entry into the room. Equipment and materials are decontaminated in a decontamination cycle using hydrogen peroxide vapour. Hydrogen peroxide vapour generator is part of the pass-through decontamination cabin; the two form a single piece of equipment. It may be fitted onto the wall separating the individual rooms. Hydrogen peroxide vapor in sufficient concentration in an enclosed space has a decontamination (surface sterilizing) effect. The advantage of this type of decontamination is that it takes place at normal temperature of 25-30 °C and under normal pressure, and leaves no toxic residues as hydrogen peroxide decomposes into oxygen and water. Operation of the decontamination pass-through cabin requires compressed air of pharmaceutical quality and connection to the existing HVAC distribution system, including the exhaust branch for venting hydrogen peroxide vapour.

Advantages of decontamination cabin:

  • Low operating costs
  • Low-temperature decontamination
  • Rapid decontamination cycle
  • Possibility to validate and reproduce decontamination cycle
  • Environmentally friendly, by-products are water vapor and oxygen
  • Possibility to write data on a storage device, or send it to printer or PC
  • long service life with minimum maintenance and repairs
  • Choice of several types and sizes
  • Easy handling and operation
